Short term courses for Skill Enhancement

The short term courses are the core competency of Mechanical Department. We strive to constantly improve our learning frameworks and teaching methodology to make them more student-friendly with best content delivery to our students. Our courses are upgraded continuously to ensure our learners are up-to-date on the latest industry requirements and best practices.Following is the list of courses currently available for students as co-curricular activities.

AutoCAD

AutoCAD is a computer-aided design (CAD) program used for 2-D and 3-D design and drafting. AutoCAD is developed and marketed by Autodesk Inc. and was one of the first CAD programs that could be executed on personal computers.AutoCAD was initially derived from a program called Interact, which was written in a proprietary language. The first release of the software used only primitive entities such as polygons, circles, lines, arcs and text to construct complex objects. Later, it came to support custom objects through a C++ application programming interface. The modern version of the software includes a full set of tools for solid modeling and 3-D. AutoCAD also supports numerous application program interfaces for automation and customization. DWG (drawing) is the native file format for AutoCAD and a basic standard for CAD data interoperability. The software has also provided support for Design Web Format (DWF), a format developed by Autodesk for publishing CAD data.

CATIA

CATIA stands for Computer Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application. It’s much more than a CAD (Computer Aided Design) software package. It’s a full software suite which incorporates CAD, CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacture). So, let’s take a look at each of these areas and the tools that CATIA offers professionals to enhance innovation in product development. CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE is essentially the next iteration of CATIA V6. It incorporates Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) through ENOVIA with the additional integration of Dassault Systèmes’ other brands such as SIMULIA, DELMIA, and more. The majority of users do not require all functionalities available in CATIA, which has significant cost impacts on the user or organisation. Licenses are therefore broken down to include required functionality and are pre-defined. Depending on the licence, additional workbenches become available and/or additional tools within workbenches become available.

Unigraphics

NX, formerly known as "unigraphics", is an advanced high-end CAD/CAM/CAE, which has been owned since 2007 by Siemens PLM Software. In 2000, Unigraphics purchased SDRC I-DEAS and began an effort to integrate aspects of both software packages into a single product which became Unigraphics NX. Unigraphics NX, also known as Siemens NX, is a software package for high-end computer-aided design/computer-aided engineering/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM/CAE) programs. The software is used for engineering analysis, design, and machining modules for manufacturing

Pro ENGINEER

Pro/ENGINEER is a computer graphics system for modeling various mechanical designs and for performing related design and manufacturing operations. The system uses a 3D solid modeling system as the The system uses a 3D solid modeling system as the core, and applies the feature-based, parametric modeling method. In short, Pro/ENGINEER is a feature -based, parametric solid modeling system with many extended design and manufacturing applications manufacturing applications

Solid works

Mechatronics, the combination of robotics, electronics, computer, and control systems, has resulted in a variety of amazing products from smart phones to self-driving cars. In order to create those products, they need to be digitally modeled and developed. SOLIDWORKS, a solid modeling computer-aided design and computer-aided engineering program, is one of the most popular software options for mechatronics engineers.SOLIDWORKS was developed by MIT graduate Jon Hirschtick and was bought by Dassault Systems in 1997. The software now encompasses a number of programs that can be used for both 2D and 3D design. SOLIDWORKS is used to develop mechatronics systems from beginning to end. At the initial stage, the software is used for planning, visual ideation, modeling, feasibility assessment, prototyping, and project management. The software is then used for design and building of mechanical, electrical, and software elements. Finally, the software can be used for management, including device management, analytics, data automation, and cloud services. The SOLIDWORKS software solutions are used by mechanical, electrical, and electronics engineers to form a connected design. The suite of programs is aimed at keeping all engineers in communication and able to respond to design needs or changes

Solid Edge

Solid Edge is a 3D CAD, parametric feature (history based) and synchronous technology solid modeling software. It runs on Microsoft Windows and provides solid modeling, assembly modelling and 2D orthographic view functionality for mechanical designers.

Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology is a field of research and innovation concerned with building 'things' - generally, materials and devices - on the scale of atoms and molecules. A nanometre is one-billionth of a metre: ten times the diameter of a hydrogen atom. The diameter of a human hair is, on average, 80,000 nanometres
