Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), deals with the engineering problems, opportunities and needs of electrical, electronics, computer, telecommunication systems and related industries. This branch provides students with a wide range of fundamental knowledge in core disciplines such as communications, control systems, signal processing, radio frequency design, micro-processors, micro-electronics, power generation and electrical machines. The discipline focuses on design and manufacture of electrical, electronic devised, computers and their component parts, as well as on the integration of components into complex systems.
Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering is well equipped with state of art labs to train students to advance their theoretical knowledge and sound practices of the profession.
A Graduate in EEE can go for Diverse fields whether it is PSU Job, Core Sectors like Construction & Steel, IT Industry, Consultancy/Finance Job, Electronics Design and a myriad of Profiles like Business Development Associates, Content Development Manager etc.
- It gives you Opportunities to explore Consultancy Domains, Eligibility to Write UPSC IES (Indian Engineering Services), Opt. for Electrical Engineering paper as Optional in UPSC IAS.
- You can also appear for PSUs like AIRPORT Authority of INDIA where Electrical & Electronics Students are allowed along with ECE students for post of Junior Executive (Electronics).
Advance Registration for admission in B. Tech courses has begun for the students who have appeared in the qualifying examination i.e. 10 +2 in the current year or passed earlier & will appear in AIEEE/JEE in the current year. The admission shall begin as soon as the result of 10+2 is announced by the CBSE / ICSE / Uttarakhand Board / Any other equivalent board.

Basic Electrical Engineering Lab:
It is common to all engineering students of first year to understand them about the basic concepts of generations of electricity, transmission and its distribution. In this lab students of first year perform experiments related to topics taught in theory like superposition theorem, nortons theorem, thevenin’s theorem, open circuit and short circuit test of single phase transformers, etc.
Electronics Device & Circuit Lab:
Design of amplifiers and other electronic systems to satisfy specifications. Bipolar and field-effect transistors, diodes integrated circuits and passive components are part of the hardware needed.
EMEC LAB- I
Electromechanical Energy Conversion (EMEC) – I Laboratory is the one the modern and newest laboratory of Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department. The lab is equipped with conventional and modern electrical & electronic measuring equipments and ac & dc electrical machines. In the lab students study, learn & perform the experiments on different types of electrical machines such as – transformers, Synchronous motors, alternators, dc motors & generators, three phase and single phase induction motors, relays and controlled rectifiers to verify the different characteristics of the electrical machines.
Networks & Measurement Lab:
This lab consists of experiments related to topics covered in Network analysis & synthesis.
EMEC Lab – II
This lab consist of number of machines like d.c. motors, shunt motors, d.c. generators, induction motors, three phase transformers, three phase alternators etc. on which students of second and third year perform experiments related to topics taught in theory.
Micro controller is the single chip device containing CPU and other associated circuitry along with memory. The micro controller lab consists of programming and debugging facility with licensed software along with the following tools:
Integrated Programming Tool (IPT)
Visual program builder (VPB)
C-Cross Complier and Debugger
Virtual Code Generator
The facility of transferring the simulated program into 8051 micro controller chip is also available with Embedded Driver Routines along with bread board facility for testing of hardware circuits. Applications specific kits are also available for demonstration and learning purposes.
Communication Engineering Lab:
This lab basically consists of about 20 computers on which various simulation software like Multisim, PSIM, Dapper, LabView and MATLAB have been installed. These software are being used by the students of second, third and final year students for lab as well as project work.
Applied Instrumentation Lab:
This lab consists of experiments related to measurement like Owens bridge, Wheatstone bridge, Kelvin’s double bridge, RTD, thermocouple, thermistor, etc.
Digital Signal Processing Lab
Experiments based on the verification of basic and advanced DSP are done in this lab. Advanced DSP starter kits are available for performing the experiments, along with the simulation using MATLAB and its various toolboxes. The following tools are available in this lab:

Concept of Programming & OOPs Lab
Oops laboratory is special and well equipped with the latest configuration Machines. System are connected via an Ethernet network to the Domain server. Guidance’s are provided to the students by a team of faculty experts and lab programmer. The labs are kept open after the college hours to enable the students to engage themselves in getting practiced with Laboratory experiments in their leisure hours. The lab is used to train the students to improve their programming knowledge and make experiments to get familiar with the Core Courses.
Control System Lab:
This lab consists of experiments performed on control system like position controller.
Power Electronics Lab:
This lab consists of experimental setups on which students of third year perform experiments related to topics studied in power electronics like half bridge rectifier, full bridge rectifier, half wave converter, full wave converter, inverter and as simulation experiments performed by Power Simulation software.
Data Structure Using C++ Lab
The lab is installed with all important editors like CodeBlock, Dev C++ provides a dual operating system environment where the students can learn to execute C and C++ programs in all types of environments.
Power System Lab
Power system Laboratory comprises of protection, simulation, high voltage and machine related experiments. Facilities are available for overcurrent, undervoltege, directional, differential and distance relays including different numerical relays. Varieties of Power system Simulation packages like Load flow, PSCAD and MiPower are available. High voltage laboratory has facilities for power frequency high voltage generation Upto 200 kV, Impulse Voltage Generation 600 kV, Condition Monitoring of Transformer,20 kV tan Delta TestKit and other testing facilities.
Optical Fiber Communication Lab
The Optical Communication laboratory is setup to complement the topics studied in the Optical Communication theory course. The lab is equipped with fiber optic trainer kits and modules to enable the study of components of an optical communication system. The students perform experiments to study the characteristics of optical sources (LED & LD) and optical detectors (LD & APD) and optical fibers(SM & MM). Fault detection in a fiber link is studied using the OTDR module, Free Space Optical Communication.
Electric Drives Lab
In this lab experimental setups on which students of final year perform experiments related to topics studied in electric drives like speed control of d.c. motor, speed control of a.c. motor, etc.
Advanced Robotic Control Lab For Industrial Application
In this laboratory students of RCE are getting advanced training on cutting edge Robotic Software. This training is meant to pave the way for RCE students to access the industrial robots located in INDIA companies like Hero Honda, Maruti Suzuki, Tata motors, etc. and apply their work practically.
A learning center in collaboration of RCE and Wipro
In this learning center UTLP Embedded Program that is proposed by WIPRO is covered which is related to Xilinx & VHDL / Verilog Languages and FPGA.
In this laboratory students become familiar with MATLAB software covering various aspect such as MATLAB Desktop, basic commands through the Command window, output through the Graph window, matrix operations, signals, use of “if condition”, for loop and while loop, implementation of functions , solving algebraic and differential equations, transform and Simulink. Here students would be able to work on MATLAB, do calculations, print out graphs, solve algebraic and differential equations, calculate Laplace and Fourier transform etc.
e-Yantra Robotics Lab holds a unique annual competition for undergraduate students in science and engineering colleges. Selected teams are given a robotic kit complete with accessories and video tutorials to help them learn basic concepts in embedded systems and micro controller programming. Abstracts of real world problems assigned as “themes” are then implemented by the teams using the robotic kits. The winners of this competition are offered summer internship at IIT Bombay through e-Yantra Summer Internship.
About Program: Aim of this program is to introduce about ATMEGA-2560 micro controller based firebird-V robot. After completion of this program, student would be able to use aforesaid micro controller for different applications.
This virtual lab provides remote-access to various Labs in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and would cater to students at the undergraduate level, post graduate level as well as to research scholars.
